Audio Settings
iPlayer provides rich audio settings to help you get the best listening experience.
Equalizer
Opening the Equalizer
- Click the EQ icon in the playback control bar
- Or via menu Playback → Equalizer
Preset Modes
iPlayer includes several equalizer presets:
| Preset | Best For |
|---|---|
| Flat | Original audio, no adjustment |
| Pop | Pop music, enhanced vocals |
| Rock | Rock music, boosted bass and treble |
| Classical | Classical music, natural balance |
| Jazz | Jazz, warm tones |
| Electronic | Electronic music, powerful bass |
| Vocal | Podcasts/audiobooks, emphasized voice |
Custom Equalizer
- Select the "Custom" preset
- Drag the sliders for each frequency band
- Click "Save" to store your settings
Adjustable frequency bands:
- 31Hz / 62Hz / 125Hz (Bass)
- 250Hz / 500Hz / 1kHz (Midrange)
- 2kHz / 4kHz / 8kHz (Treble)
- 16kHz (Ultra-high)
Audio Output
Output Device Selection
- Open Settings → Audio
- Select device from the "Output Device" dropdown
iPlayer supports:
- Built-in speakers
- Wired headphones
- Bluetooth audio devices
- USB DAC
- External sound cards
Exclusive Mode
Enable exclusive mode to bypass the system mixer and output directly to the audio device:
- Open Settings → Audio
- Enable "Exclusive Mode"
Use Case
Exclusive mode is ideal when using high-end DACs for the purest audio output.
Hi-Res Output
Check Output Quality
View current output specs on the playback screen:
- Sample rate: 44.1kHz ~ 192kHz
- Bit depth: 16bit / 24bit / 32bit
Automatic Sample Rate Switching
When enabled, iPlayer automatically switches output sample rate based on the audio file:
- Open Settings → Audio
- Enable "Auto Sample Rate"
ReplayGain
ReplayGain automatically adjusts volume between different songs to avoid volume jumps:
- Open Settings → Audio
- Enable "ReplayGain"
- Select mode:
- Album Mode - Maintains volume dynamics within albums
- Track Mode - Consistent volume for each song
Crossfade
Set fade-in/fade-out effects when switching songs:
- Open Settings → Audio
- Adjust "Crossfade Duration" (0-3 seconds)
