Import Music

iPlayer provides multiple ways to import your music collection.

Supported Formats

Lossless Formats

  • FLAC - Free Lossless Audio Codec
  • WAV - Waveform Audio File Format
  • ALAC - Apple Lossless Audio Codec (.m4a)
  • APE - Monkey's Audio
  • DSD - Direct Stream Digital (.dsf, .dff)
  • AIFF - Audio Interchange File Format

Lossy Formats

  • MP3 - MPEG Audio Layer III
  • AAC - Advanced Audio Coding (.aac, .m4a)
  • OGG - Ogg Vorbis
  • WMA - Windows Media Audio

Import Methods

Method 1: Drag and Drop

The simplest way is to drag and drop:

  1. Open iPlayer
  2. Drag music files or folders from your file manager to the iPlayer window
  3. iPlayer will automatically recognize and import all supported audio files

Method 2: Menu Import

Use the menu to select files or folders:

  1. Click File → Add Files or Add Folder
  2. Select the content you want to import in the dialog
  3. Click "OK" to complete the import

Method 3: Watch Folders

Set up automatically monitored folders - new music will be added to your library automatically:

  1. Open Settings → Music Library
  2. Click "Add Watch Folder"
  3. Select the folder where you store your music
  4. Enable "Auto Scan" option

Metadata Recognition

iPlayer automatically reads metadata from audio files:

  • Song title
  • Artist
  • Album name
  • Album artwork
  • Year
  • Genre
  • Track number

Tip

If metadata is displayed incorrectly, right-click on the song and select "Edit Info" to manually modify it.
